New Rental Car Garage Taking Shape with Concrete Columns
The Consolidated Rental Car Garage is taking shape as the Airport continues to undergo its improvement project. For the past couple of weeks, construction crews have begun placing precast structural pieces. Sixty-six foot tall columns that reach the fifth level have been erected, and next in line will be beams and slabs using a tall crane. The Rental Car Center will eventually contain six elevated levels with 3,000 spaces, counters located in the ground floor lobby, and a three-level maintenance facility. The ground floor will also contain 350 spaces for public parking. The Consolidated Rental Car Garage will open in 2010.
New Crosswalks Open at Terminal C
Two new crosswalks will open at Terminal C on November 5 as the existing crosswalk there will be closed due to roadway construction. The current crosswalk at Terminal C will be relocated closer to the baggage claim area. Additionally, a second crosswalk will be open just north of the Terminal C ticketing area. Both crosswalks will connect passengers to the Ground Transportation Area. For safety, please use all designated crosswalks and follow Parking and Traffic Control Officers directions.
ACM Aviation Has Moved to the Westside of the Airport
ACM Aviation has moved their operations to a brand new facility on the Westside of the Airport at 1162 Aviation Avenue. Their previous location on the Eastside of the Airport is being demolished to facilitate the current roadways project and future development. In the interim, the area will serve temporary uses, including supporting the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Conference in November.

Construction Schedules are Subject to Change
Because the $1.3 billion project to replace and upgrade the SJC terminal area is complex and moving very fast, our construction schedules are subject to continuing revision. We will keep updating the public and our customers about the project details as they occur, but please bear with us as we adjust schedules for the project. We appreciate your patience, and thank you for flying San José while we build The New Airport for you.
